Motorcyclists visiting Custer State Park during the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally will now pay a flat $10 fee for an extended pass to the park.
During the state Game, Fish & Parks Commission meeting in Pierre, members voted to change the current pass rules, which charge motorcyclists during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally $6 for a single passenger or $12 for two. Those passes are good for only seven days.
Under the new system, motorcycles can pay the flat $10 fee beginning on the Monday before the rally. The permit will be good for all state parks until Aug. 22. Motorcycles can also buy an annual pass, which costs $28, at Custer State Park.
